Favorite places, a giveaway, and all the book news

Happy December! Whatever your tradition is, I hope you’re enjoying the season! I took a break from writing last week to spend time at my favorite places. The New York Public Library had a special exhibit featuring Charles Dickens’ notebooks, inkwell, glasses, and other items – I get chills just thinking that he touched those objects with his own hands! I also shopped at a few winter markets, visited a fun exhibit at the New York Historical Society about the history of Jewish delis, had a delicious family Sunday brunch, and spent an evening at the holiday lights show at the New York Botanical Garden. I hope you’ve made some time for fun this month — and if there’s someplace special you like to go, I’d love for you to tell me about it in the comments.

In the meantime, I have lots of book news to share! My next release — coming this spring!

In the next few days, I will get the final proof of my upcoming historical novel to review! I can tell you that the presale will begin early next year, and the release is scheduled for May. Hopefully I will have a title and a cover to share soon after the new year. What I can share with you is that it’s a dual-timeline novel, with two heroines, and that my present-day heroine uncovers clues that lead her to Italy to uncover secrets from her grandmother’s past – including one that will dramatically change her life. More soon!

What I’m Reading

THIS TIME TOMORROW by Emma Straub

I’m a sucker for time-traveler stories, and I just adored this one, written by one of my favorite authors. Alice celebrates her fortieth birthday by unexpectedly revisiting her sixteenth one – which gives her the chance to see her father from a whole new vantage point. Touching and poignant and irresistible!

CARRIE SOTO IS BACK by Taylor Jenkins Reid

As a tennis fan, I absolutely relished this story about a fictional tennis star who, coached by her devoted dad, aims for the comeback of a lifetime! A real joy! And if you can, check out the audio version, which features guest narrators from the tennis world including Mary Carillo, Patrick McEnroe, and more!

CROOKED LITTLE LIES by Barbara Sissel

When I received my Barbara’s email with the picture of my book, it made me recall what an outstanding writer she is, with psychological suspense as her specialty. Crooked Little Lies is a favorite of mine – but she has many good ones out there, so take a look!

That’s it for now! Wishing you a wonderful December and all the best in the new year!
