Thanks, Batavia Library!
My mother was the assistant to the director of Syosset Library when I was growing up, so the library was my second home. I loved being around all the books and the people who read, shelved, and recommended them. I thought it was so special that I saw places few others could — like the director’s office and the rooms where books were ordered, received, and organized for shelving. I loved all the children’s programs that the library held, and I loved that because of my mom, I got to show up early and get a front row seat!
All this is my way of saying that I’m so tickled when a library highlights one of my books — and especially when it’s called “perfect for an afternoon spent in a shady backyard hammock”! Thanks so much to Batavia Public Library of Illinois for this review of THE LILAC HOUSE in the local paper!
